About
Ms. Shaikh secured the prestigious Pelvic Floor and Intestinal Failure Fellowship at the world-renowned St Mark's Hospital, London where she gained valuable and extensive experience in the management of complex surgical patients and functional bowel disease. She specialises in functional bowel diseases including obstetric anal sphincter injuries, faecal incontinence and rectal prolapse. She is proficient at advanced laparoscopic surgery for bowel disorders and is also trained in robotic bowel surgery.
Ms. Shaikh is passionate about medical research and has more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in notable medical journals and over 40 published abstracts and a book chapter. She has presented at various national and international meetings including several invited presentations. She is actively engaged in training and education with medical students and surgical trainees. She is faculty member on training courses with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
