About Dr Sanjay Jain
Dr Sanjay Jain joined the Priory Hospital Woking in 2010 as a visiting consultant in general adult psychiatry. He looks after adult patients who suffer from various mental illnesses and disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), alcohol and drug related issues. He has a special interest in diagnosing and treating attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and Asperger syndrome and compiling Medico Legal reports. Dr Jain sees patients during weekdays and also at weekends and carries out home visits, if appropriate and needed. He also works as a full time general adult psychiatrist within the NHS, based in Horsham, West Sussex. Training Dr Jain graduated from the University of Calcutta, India, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Degree in 1993. After completing psychiatric specialty training and obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2003, Dr Jain also completed a Diploma in Advanced Professional Development in Clinical & Health Sciences in 2007, Professional Certificate in Management (Health & Social Care) in 2009 and a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education in 2010 through KSS Deanery. Dr Jain completed his ADHD training at Maudsley Hospital and has been working as an adult ADHD specialist since 2010, establishing an adult ADHD service in West Sussex in 2010, for which he received a Clinical Excellence Award. He has been a college tutor and is an honorary clinical senior lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He is also an examiner appointed by the Royal College of Psychiatrist. Dr Jain has been a Royal College accredited external adviser for KSS Deanery since 2010. He has worked in a forensic medium secure unit (Ravenswood House) and also at Winchester Prison. Dr Jain has completed AAA Course at Cambridge University and he has a special interest in diagnosing and managing autistic spectrum disorder. Research interests Dr Jain is a research lead within the NHS and has set up an ADHD and mental health research unit (AMHRU) in Horsham. I am always eager to carry out research in order to find the most innovative/suitable treatment for my patients. I have received five NHS Clinical Excellence Awards for being innovative and creative and I have also been nominated for the Unsung Hero Award, Future Focus Award, an Excellence in Research Award. I actively participate as a member of the Trust's Drug and Therapeutic Committee in drafting various prescribing guidelines (depression, bipolar disorder, etc.)
