Dr. Salwa Kamourieh is a Consultant Neurologist at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, located in Queen Square, London, UK. She underwent her training at Imperial College London and completed her general medical training in Southwest London, resulting in her achievement of the MRCP in 2010.
Following her general medical training, Dr Kamourieh pursued a PhD at Imperial College London and subsequently undertook her residency in Neurology at Imperial College NHS Trust. Throughout her training, she developed a keen interest in managing headache disorders, ultimately leading her to assume her current consultant position in 2020.
Specialising in the management of primary refractory headache disorders such as chronic migraine, vestibular migraine, and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, Dr Kamourieh focuses particularly on neurostimulation for intractable headaches and providing headache education for both academic and clinical students.
Dr Kamourieh has also developed an interest in women's health, how hormones affect headache disorders, and their management.
Dr Kamourieh's research interests primarily revolve around complex headaches and facial pain, reflecting her dedication to advancing the understanding and treatment of these conditions within the field of neurology. She has contributed to the field with numerous scientific papers and has presented at various national medical conferences and teaching courses.
