Dr Russell Franks is a Consultant Cardiologist based in Oxford at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Dr Franks has advanced expertise across the full range of cardiac imaging modalities, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE), stress echocardiography, and cardiac CT. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) valve procedures, such as mitral edge-to-edge repair (MitraClip), tricuspid edge-to-edge repair (TriClip), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI), and transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement.
Dr Franks graduated with honours in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2009. Following medical rotations in Manchester and London, he trained in cardiology in Northwest Londo, based at the internationally renowned Hammersmith Hospital.
Dr Franks holds a PhD from King’s College London and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. He lectures both locally and nationally and is involved with medical training and education at Oxford University Hospitals.
