Miss Islam graduated from the University of Nottingham before completing her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in North West London, with clinical experience at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She completed an MD(Res) at Imperial College London, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and NIHR, with research focused on reproductive endocrinology. She also trained in IVF at the renowned Hammersmith Hospital and completed her subspecialist training in reproductive medicine in Oxford, at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Miss Islam is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society. She has published her research in high-impact journals including Human Reproduction and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences.
