Mr Robert Davies

Mr Davies practices exclusively as a vascular specialist providing expert treatment to patients with arterial and venous disease both privately and within a busy NHS practice. He is uniquely qualified in both open vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular surgery, being able to offer clients a truly unbiased and comprehensive expert opinion on the full range of treatment options available for their vascular condition. Mr Davies has a sub-specialist interest in arterial conditions affecting the legs and is widely regarded as a leading national expert in the treatment of complex lower limb arterial disease. He is regularly consulted as a key opinon leader in the field of lower limb vascular disease.  Mr. Davies is the Head of Vascular Surgery at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust - a leading UK vascular centre with a national reputation for excellence in the field of peripheral arterial disease. He set up the Vascular Limb Salvage (VaLS) Service, a rapid access limb salvage service that has reduced amputations by 50% within Leicestershire, and pioneered the Vascular Limb Salvage Academy (ValSA) for which he was awarded ‘Most Inspiring Role Model’ by the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2018. Mr. Davies has an extensive research portfolio and has published more than 40 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and 10 book chapters in the field of vascular surgery. He was awarded a Medical Doctorate in surgery (MD) from the University of Birmingham for research in the field of endovascular (key-hole) aortic aneurysm surgery. Our team working model of care allows our patients to benefit from the experience and expertise of four leading UK vascular surgeons; all complex arterial and venous cases are discussed within our multidisciplinary team (MDT) and managed within a collaborative working environment, including dual consultant operating lists, ensuring our clients are offered the best treatment available.
