He set up the Vascular Limb Salvage (VaLS) Service, a rapid access limb salvage service that has reduced amputations by 50% within Leicestershire, and pioneered the Vascular Limb Salvage Academy (ValSA) for which he was awarded ‘Most Inspiring Role Model’ by the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2018. Mr. Davies has an extensive research portfolio and has published more than 40 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and 10 book chapters in the field of vascular surgery. He was awarded a Medical Doctorate in surgery (MD) from the University of Birmingham for research in the field of endovascular (key-hole) aortic aneurysm surgery.
