He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Dr Ahmad completed a residency programme in General Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA, followed by a fellowship programme in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Texas, USA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow.
