Dr Richard White is an experienced consultant neurologist with a broad clinical and academic background, specialising in young stroke, headache disorders, and advanced neurological therapies. He currently practices at Neurosciences Queensland and previously held a consultant position at The Walton Centre in the United Kingdom.
Dr White graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Leeds in 1992, following an earlier Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to complete a Doctor of Medicine, focusing on nitric oxide-dependent regulation of the human cerebrovasculature. His research training included an MRC Research Fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital, where he investigated cerebrovascular regulation.
He is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, reflecting his international expertise and recognition.
Clinically, Dr White has particular interest in the use of botulinum toxin for conditions such as dystonia, chronic migraine, hyperhidrosis, and hemifacial spasm, as well as device-assisted therapies for Parkinson’s disease. Alongside his clinical work, he remains actively involved in research and medical education, having held roles as a postgraduate tutor, training programme director, and regional advisor in neurology.
