About Mr Rhys Davies
Mr Rhys Davies is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with subspecialist expertise in oculoplastics, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. He qualified in 2009 from Cardiff University Medical School, where he also completed an intercalated BSc in Pharmacology. Following his foundation training in South Wales, he gained international experience working in Western Australia before entering the highly competitive Ophthalmology Specialty Training programme in the UK. He completed seven years of specialist training in Edinburgh and became a member of the Specialist Register in 2019. During his training, he received awards and published in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals. Mr Davies undertook further subspecialty training in oculoplastics, lacrimal, and orbital surgery in both Edinburgh and Cambridge under leading experts in the field. He previously worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Cambridge and currently maintains a busy NHS practice at Musgrove Park Hospital. His clinical expertise includes cataract surgery using micro-incisional, sutureless techniques, as well as YAG laser capsulotomy for posterior capsule opacification. He also manages a wide range of eyelid and lacrimal conditions, offering procedures such as blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, entropion and ectropion repair, eyelid lesion excision, eyebrow lift surgery, and treatment for watery eyes (epiphora). Mr Davies’ work combines advanced surgical training with a focus on both functional and cosmetic outcomes, particularly in the management of eyelid disorders and cataract-related conditions.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
