Dr Resham Baruah is a Consultant Cardiologist based in London. She qualified in 2004 at Imperial College London and completed her specialist cardiology training in the areas of pulmonary hypertension, cardiac sarcoidosis and cardiac oncology. In 2010 Dr Baruah completed a PhD in Periodic Breathing and Heart Failure at Imperial College London. She also completed a Master's degree in Health Economics, Management and Cardiovascular Outcomes at LSE in 2019.

Dr Baruah specialises in heart failure, cardiac oncology, pulmonary hypertension, valvular heart disease, cardiac myopathies and cardiac imaging. She sees private patients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital.

She has expertise in all areas of general adult cardiology and treats patients with the following conditions:

• Heart failure

• Palpitations and chest pain

• Heart valve disease

• High cholesterol and high blood pressure

• Swelling

• Shortness of breath and sleep disordered breathing

She also has expertise in cardiac diagnostic modalities such as echocardiography and cardiac MRI.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr Baruah is a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London and has published her work in peer-reviewed journals. She has also held the position of Specialist Advisor to NICE where she used her expertise to advise the institute on chronic heart failure guidelines.
