About Dr Reena Ali
Dr Reena Ali is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and the founder of RDA Psychology Practice and RDA Autism and ADHD Practice. She provides psychological therapy, assessment, consultation, and training, working with both adults and children. Her clinical work focuses on supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, and difficulties related to neurodivergence. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on evidence-based interventions such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). She places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and collaborative formulation, working with clients to develop a shared understanding of their experiences and to create tailored care plans that reflect individual strengths and needs. Dr Ali has extensive experience within the NHS across a range of specialist services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, neurodevelopmental services, and substance use services. In her most recent NHS role within a specialist neurodevelopmental CAMHS team, she worked closely with neurodivergent children and families, contributing to pathway development for specialist schools, delivering continuing professional development training, conducting psychological assessments, and supervising colleagues within multidisciplinary teams. As part of an award-winning CAMHS team, she led initiatives to enhance therapeutic environments and accessibility, including introducing sensory-based tools to support emotional regulation and attention, securing funding for therapeutic spaces such as a nature-based room, and exploring the use of technology within trauma therapy. She has also contributed to the development of multi-agency pathways across health and education to improve coordinated care for children, young people, and families. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Ali provides reflective supervision, professional consultancy, and training for charities, private organisations, and healthcare professionals. She is a trained facilitator within the National Autism Training Programme, and her practice is grounded in a neuro-affirming approach informed by current research and ongoing professional development. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the British Psychological Society. Her key clinical interests include trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety, and identity, and she is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-informed, and culturally sensitive psychological care.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
