Reem Shaheen, the Managing Director of BE Psychology Center for Emotional Wellbeing, is a highly qualified and licensed Counselling Psychologist with 12 years of experience in the field across three countries. She is a dedicated member of The American Counselling Association (ACA), The Academy of Eating Disorders (AED), and holds a licence from the Community Development Authority (CDA).
Reem completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt in 2004 followed by her Masters in Counselling Mental Health and Wellness at New York University (NYU), further expanding her expertise. Her commitment to specialisation led her to an internship at The Center of the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia (CSAB), where she received extensive training, lectures, and supervision in working with eating disorders and addiction disorders. Reem also completed comprehensive training by Paula Hall, PhD, focused on sex addiction disorders.
As a Psychotherapist, Reem draws from various therapeutic theories, combining psychodynamic, existential, and humanistic approaches. She employs concepts from object relations, attachment, and relational theories to help individuals rewrite their life stories and overcome past struggles, leading to increased inner peace and emotional growth.
