About Prof Tas Qureshi
Professor Qureshi is a Consultant Laparoscopic GI and General Surgeon with an established practice. His expertise includes surgery for benign conditions such gallstones and all types of hernias, both of which he performs regularly, in addition to diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Appointed by the Department of Health as a National Trainer in Laparoscopic Surgery, he was tasked with raising standards amongst other consultants; a testament to his excellence. Professor Qureshi's expertise is internationally recognised in laparoscopic surgery, running masterclasses for other surgeons and is regularly invited to lecture and teach laparoscopic surgery abroad. He is also lead surgeon for Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery and a Visiting Professor at Bournemouth University. As one of the first UK surgeons trained in Robotic Colo-rectal Surgery, Professor Qureshi led his unit to be appointed as a European Centre of Excellence, running International Robotic Masterclasses. In addition to his other successful practice, Professor Qureshi has set up an Enhanced Recovery Programme, being short-listed for the prestigious National Patient Safety Awards for his achievements.
