Professor Georg Auzinger is a Consultant and Reader in Intensive Care Medicine at King’s College London and serves as the Department Chair for Critical Care at Cleveland Clinic London. With over two decades of experience as a Consultant in the NHS, he has held key leadership roles, including Clinical Director for Critical Care at King’s College Hospital.
From 2007 to 2015, Professor Auzinger led the renowned Liver ICU at King’s, followed by his role as Clinical Director for Critical Care until 2019, when he joined Cleveland Clinic London. In 2021, he was named Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
His research focuses on liver failure, transplantation, and extracorporeal life support (ECMO). Professor Auzinger has co-authored over 100 publications in prestigious journals, including The Lancet and JAMA. He co-directs King’s ECMO service, recognised as an ELSO Platinum Centre of Excellence for its advancements in ECMO for liver failure and transplantation.
