Professor Dean A. Fennell is a world-leading expert in the research and treatment of patients with malignant mesothelioma. Professor Fennell qualified with a first-class degree in Pharmacology followed by Medicine and Surgery. After basic specialist training, Professor Fennell obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, followed by a PhD in Oncology. Professor Fennell completed training in Medical Oncology and then undertook back-to-back Cancer Research UK Clinician Scientist Fellowships. Professor Fennell was elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and served two terms on the board of the EORTC. They are a member of the IASLC & European mesothelioma task force, past IMIG president/NCRI mesothelioma CSG chair. Professor Fennell has published extensively in the highest impact journals.
