Professor Knight trained at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Managing Director of St Bartholomew's Hospital and Executive Director of the Barts Heart Centre, the largest heart centre in the UK.
Professor Knight has over twenty five years experience as a general and interventional cardiologist and sees patients with all types of cardiology problems. He has performed over 4000 angioplasty procedures. His medical career has seen him pioneer non-surgical treatment for patients with heart muscle disease, (alcohol septal ablation) an accomplishment which sees his services attract patients from across the globe. He is active in research and has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers.
From 2008 to 2011 he was Honorary Secretary of the British Cardiovascular Society, the professional body for UK Cardiologists and other healthcare workers with an interest in cardiovascular medicine. He also led Cardiology training in London from 2008-13 and has served as an advisor to NICE.
