About

Priya Zachariah is a highly experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist at Neuropedia Dubai with over 23 years of experience. She graduated from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, in 1999. Throughout her career, Priya has worked in various hospitals and special needs centres in India and several Middle Eastern countries for over 17 years, serving as both a senior therapist and Head of Department. She played a key role in planning and establishing the Child Development Centre at Azeezia Medical College in Kollam, India, where she was Head of Clinical Services and Centre Development Manager.

Priya is certified in Ayres Sensory Integration by CLASI, USA, and has completed RMT (Rhythmic Movement Training) with RMTi, USA. She is skilled in developing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and creating specialised curricula for children with special needs. Her extensive training includes Occupational Therapy in Oncology Rehabilitation—focusing on Lymphedema Management—as well as Conductive Education, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Assistive Technology, Makaton, the 4 Blocks of Literacy, Letterland, Handwriting, Clicker-7, and Animal Assisted Therapy. Additionally, she is proficient in using various standardised assessments in occupational therapy and ADOS-2, continually seeking to expand her knowledge.

Priya's dedication to her field has been recognised, including being a shortlisted finalist and receiving a certificate for “Outstanding Occupational Therapist” from Her Royal Highness Princess Haya, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the 5th cycle of the Princess Haya Awards for Special Education (PHASE).

Her passion for learning and teaching led Priya to become an Assistant Professor at the College of Occupational Therapy in Trivandrum, India, where she taught undergraduate students for two years before joining Neuropedia.

Priya enjoys working with children and is committed to educating and training parents and caregivers to ensure that therapy and recommendations are effectively implemented at home. She regularly conducts parent training sessions and shares her insights on her blog for parents, priya-the-ot.blogspot.com.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Ms Priya Zachariah
