Mr Wong graduated from the University of Bristol in 1999 and went on to train in general and vascular surgery in the Northeast of England before becoming a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at James Cook University Hospital in 2012.
He has a busy NHS practice and specialises in venous and peripheral arterial disorders. Mr Wong offers customised varicose vein treatment (including radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy and open surgery).
He is a Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Care Quality Commission Specialist Advisor (CQC).
In addition, he is an Associate Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Associate Fellow at Newcastle University, and he was the previous Course Director of the Basic Surgical Skills course at James Cook University Hospital.
Mr Wong is an examiner for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Intercollegiate Board in Vascular Surgery) and the Fellowship of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (European Union Medical Specialists).
