About
Dr. Keedwell trained at the renowned Maudsley Hospital and Institute of Psychiatry in London, where he gained extensive experience in adult ADHD, alcohol dependency, and mood disorders. He has also worked as a clinical researcher at leading brain imaging centres in London and Cardiff, deepening his expertise in the biological basis of mental health conditions.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Dr. Keedwell has published 26 academic papers and authored two books. He frequently contributes to public discussions on mental health, appearing on BBC News 24, CNN, and More Four News, as well as radio programmes such as BBC Radio Five Live and the Today Programme.
He graduated in medicine from the University of Leeds in 1991 where he also earned a first-class degree in Psychology. Following his foundation training he went on to complete his psychiatry training, becoming a consultant in 2005, giving him 20 years of consultant experience in his field. He completed his PhD on the neurobiology of depression in 2010 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2022.
