About Dr Pari Farzim
Dr Pari Farzim is a Consultant Systemic and Family Psychotherapist at Nightingale Hospital in London. With over 25 years of experience in mental health, she has worked extensively in both the NHS and private sectors, specialising in eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and complex relational challenges. She previously served as a consultant systemic psychotherapist at Richmond Royal Hospital’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and as Head of Psychology and Psychotherapies at St George’s NHS Trust. In this role, she led a department for adolescents with eating disorders, recognised as one of the leading services in London. Originally trained as a lawyer, Dr Farzim transitioned into the field of mental health and earned a PhD in Systemic Psychotherapy from London University. She also completed an MSc in Systemic Family Therapy at the Institute of Family Therapy and an Advanced Certificate in Supervision and Training. She is a registered supervisor with the Association for Family Therapy and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. Her academic contributions include lecturing on Family Therapy Master’s degree courses at the Institute of Family Therapy and the Institute of Psychiatry. At Nightingale Hospital, Dr Farzim provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families, addressing a wide range of psychological and relational difficulties. While she has a particular expertise in eating disorders and couples therapy, she also works with families facing complex mental health challenges, especially when one family member is experiencing a significant psychological condition. She believes that therapy should provide a safe and supportive space, where individuals and families can explore their difficulties and develop strategies to improve their well-being. Dr Farzim begins therapy with an initial consultation, focusing on psychoeducation and understanding each client’s previous experiences with therapy. She emphasises the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship, ensuring that clients feel comfortable and supported throughout the process. Her approach integrates systemic family therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, adapting to the unique needs of each individual or family. Fluent in English and Farsi, she offers therapy in both languages. In addition to her work at Nightingale Hospital, Dr Farzim practises at 999 Medical Centre and Harley Street, and provides post-qualifying supervision for clinicians working in the field. She has facilitated therapy groups for individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and stress management challenges. Her therapeutic approach is focused on helping clients develop the skills and resilience needed to navigate their difficulties and achieve lasting improvements in their mental health.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
