About Dr Owen Jenkins
Dr. Owen Jenkins is a highly skilled Orthopaedic surgeon practising in South Brisbane. His journey in the medical field began in the UK, where he earned his medical degree and gained invaluable experience within the NHS. During this time, he completed his residency at a large tertiary teaching hospital, and it was here that he discovered his passion for orthopaedic surgery. After relocating to Australia, Dr Jenkins continued his medical journey by completing advanced Orthopaedic training locally, ultimately obtaining the prestigious FRACS qualification. Throughout his training, he worked across south-east Queensland, honing his expertise. Dr. Jenkins has a particular focus on primary and revision Arthroplasty, and he pursued advanced training in this field through a local Fellowship. Additionally, he dedicated significant time to refining his skills in Foot and Ankle surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Terry Saxby, a highly regarded Foot and Ankle surgeon in Australia. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Jenkins is deeply involved in medical education, actively engaging with medical students and junior doctors in his public role. He is also committed to ongoing research projects in his field. He understands the critical role of communication and places a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction. Dr Jenkins adopts a holistic approach to patient care and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including general and rehabilitation physicians, as well as allied health services, to ensure optimal outcomes. Dr. Jenkins holds appointments in both the public and private sectors throughout South Brisbane. He is recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and is a proud member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
