Omar Aldalati is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in minimally invasive (“keyhole”) treatments for heart and valve disease. Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 1,500 PCI procedures and over 500 TAVI procedures. He is also a key member of a specialised mitral valve intervention team in Wales, contributing to advanced catheter-based treatments for complex valve conditions.
Dr Aldalati has extensive experience managing patients with complex coronary artery disease and valve disorders that can lead to symptoms such as breathlessness, chest discomfort, and reduced heart function. His approach centres on delivering high-quality, patient-focused care using the latest evidence-based techniques.
Beyond clinical practice, he has played an important role in service development and training. He served as the Welsh representative on the Junior Committee of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, supporting the development of future cardiology specialists. He was also instrumental in designing and establishing a benchmark TAVI programme in Cardiff, improving treatment pathways and patient safety across Wales. He continues to contribute to service improvement initiatives at University Hospital of Wales.
In addition, Dr Aldalati is Co-Director of Medical Notes Solutions, where he works on leveraging modern IT systems to enhance medical record-keeping and streamline clinical pathways.
