An active Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO), Dr Lewis has contributed significantly to ophthalmic education, serving on the NSW State Branch Committee and as an advisor to the ophthalmology clinical indicators committee of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards. She has also contributed to State-wide Ophthalmology Services and the Agency for Clinical Innovation Cornea and Cataract working groups.
Dr Lewis is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School and has been a peer reviewer for the American Academy of Ophthalmology Journal Ophthalmology. She is actively involved in clinical research, trials, and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications.
