Als Assistenzarzt arbeitete er in der Abteilung für Plastische und Handchirurgie im Evangelischen Krankenhaus Lippstadt und der Klinik für plastische Chirurgie im städtischen Klinikum Gütersloh, bevor er als Oberarzt tätig wurde.
