Nach Abschluss des Studiums begann er seine Facharztausbildung in den Universitätskliniken für Plastische und Rekonstruktive Chirurgie der Universitäten Heidelberg und Bochum. Zuletzt war Dr. med Kapalschinski in leitender Funktion als Oberarzt am Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Universitätsklinikum Bergmannsheil Bochum in der Klinik für Plastsiche Chirurgie tätig. Internationale Weiterbildungsaufenthalte, unter anderem in Taiwan und Nepal erweiterten sein Spektrum und chirurgische Erfahrung. Darüber hinaus veröffentlichte er zahlreiche Publikationen und Buchkapitel und wurde mit mehreren wissenschaftlichen Preisen, unter anderem der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Chirurgie und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Wundheilung und Wundbehandlung, ausgezeichnet.




Seine allumfassende plastisch chirurgische Ausbildung und operative Tätigkeit umfasste die Mikrochirurgie, die Wiederherstellung und auch Handchirurgie. Im Laufe seines klinischen Weges legte er jedoch bereits früh den Behandlungsschwerpunkt auf die körperformenden und ästhetischen Eingriffe. Innerhalb dieses Spektrums spezialisierte er sich mittlerweile exklusiv auf die formgebende Brustchirurgie in all ihren Facetten, sowie Straffungsoperationen wie etwa des Bauches, der Arme und Beine, sowie Fettabsaugungen. Durch seine jahrelange Erfahrung und Expertise kann Dr. med Kapalschinski auch komplexe Kombinationseingriffe wie etwa Körperformungen nach Schwangerschaften oder starkem Gewichtsverlust anbieten. Nicht zuletzt durch den Austausch mit nationalen und internationalen Kolleg*innen im Rahmen von renomierten Fachkongressen entwickelt er kontinuierlich modernste Operationstechniken weiter.
