About
Dr Meulman and his dedicated team have been providing a comprehensive surgical service to the residents of Central western NSW for over 27 years. We are located at 204 Russell Street Bathurst NSW. The building is adjacent to Strathmore which in times gone by was an obstetric hospital and the current rooms were the doctors’ residence.
Dr Meulman operates at two public (Bathurst & Cowra) and one private hospital (Bathurst Private Hospital) across the region. Patients at the public hospitals have no out of pocket expenses. Private patients are usually charged the No Gap fee and hence the out of pocket charge is kept to a minimum. Although there may be a waiting time for a consultation, urgent conditions can always be seen within a short time frame.
The Central West also affords him the lifestyle he desires. The absence of traffic jams and a wonderful environment to raise his three beautiful children.
Dr Meulman has always had a strong desire to help those less fortunate. In an endeavour to provide humanitarian assistance in our geographical region, he was a Surgeon in the Australian Defence Force for five years being deployed to East Timor and the Solomon Islands. After leaving the ADF he conducted a series of self-funded visits to Gizo in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. After this he was trained as a member of AUSMAT (The Australian Medical Assistance Team).
Combining his passion for flying with his humanitarian endeavours Dr Meulman established a free surgical service to the remote community of Bourke in 2009.
