About
Dr Matharu prioritises evidence-based approaches in her practice, and uses the influence of multiple different therapy types including cognitive-behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, systemic therapy, narrative therapy and mindfulness. She utilises different methods and tailors her approach depending on the individual, allowing her to provide the best possible care for each patient.
She completed her undergraduate study in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, and went on to complete a Master of Research degree at the University of Birmingham. In 2012, she completed her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Matharu has been involved in teaching, training and supervising others in the field. Furthermore she has been creating a service for a residential environment to help children and young people with severe mental health conditions.
Dr Mathari is passionate about creating a supportive and safe environment for patients where they feel comfortable and secure. She takes great pride in her role as Clinical Psychologist and enjoys supporting clients on their journey to achieving their therapeutic goals. She has successfully worked with children, families and young people, and tailors interventions to suit all ages.
