She then earned a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland in 1997. She completed the Saudi Board in General Paediatrics in 2001. Dr Al Rajaa pursued further specialisation with a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2006, and a Fellowship in Foetal and Neonatal Cardiology and Clinical Research from the University of Alberta, Canada, completed in 2010.
