About
Dr Nabil Mitry is the founder and CEO of the British Day Surgical Centre in Dubai which offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for all medical problems. Dr Nabil has expertise in urology and has a special interest in renal calculi management, fertility, and sexual dysfunction.
He first qualified in 1969 from the University of Cairo before training in general surgery at Manchester University Teaching Hospitals in the UK. During his higher training, he gained skills in advanced techniques of paediatric urology and received his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1978.
In 1989, Dr Mitry pioneered penile implant surgery in the UAE for impotency treatment and he was also the first to use thermal therapy and microwave hyperthermia for prostate conditions.
Dr Mitry has had continued involvement in medical education and has spent time as an instructor for medical students and nurses. He has also gained medical knowledge from Sir Norman Blacklock who, at the time, was the medical officer for the Queen.
Dr Mitry later worked at King Faisal University in Saudia Arabia and was responsible for developing the urology department. Following this, he relocated to Dubai to establish the Manchester Clinic and has since founded the British Day Surgical Centre.
