About

Efficacy is the UK's largest and leading independent Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) service of BABCP accredited therapists – the single point raising us above all other psychological therapy services. This delivers high quality care and exceptional outcomes to our clients.

Tanya, a consultant counselling psychologist, is the Clinical Lead at Efficacy and has over 15 years previous experience in the NHS. As Head of Community Psychological Services for over six of those years, she led all adult community psychological services within the North East London NHS Foundation Trust. She has specialised in working with adults in the full range of NHS settings from primary care to acute wards. After practising as an integrative therapist for many years, Tanya has specialised in CBT since 2008.

Prior to training in psychological therapies, Tanya held a career in media, marketing and sales, where she worked in advertising and financial services. This gives her a very relevant reference points when helping clients with work-related issues. She has also worked as a professional writer as an agony aunt and in the advertising, construction and careers advice sectors.

EMDR

Tanya enjoys working with individuals, couples and groups. She is very experienced in treating a wide range of anxiety and mood disorders:

• Mild, moderate, severe, repeated and chronic depression
• Bipolar disorder
• Anxiety (general)
• Specific phobias
• OCD
• PTSD

Tanya is also trained in providing CBT for couples and has a specialist interest in supporting couples working through relationship trauma such as an affair.

Tanya is particularly interested in helping people manage their emotions more constructively and in working with people who have a pattern of problems in relationships. Her work often helps people with such issues to form and maintain more constructive ways of dealing with other people. These changes frequently improve their wellbeing and increase the chances of more positive outcomes in personal and professional relationships.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
