About Dr Maxine Hogarth
Dr Hogarth has worked for over 20 years as a Rheumatology Consultant and is currently based at London Northwest Hospitals NHS Trust. She works closely with other specialities to ensure all patients receive individualised, integrated care and undertakes regular multidisciplinary meetings with Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Surgeons and MSK Radiologists. · She has a Postgraduate Certificate in DXA Reporting and is medical lead for the new Fracture Liasion Service at Ealing Hospital which aims to ensure all patients aged 50 and over with a fragility fracture are assessed and treated in line with national standards. · In addition to undertaking a busy clinical Rheumatology Service, she is the Educational Lead for Rheumatology, training Specialist Registrars, Nurse Specialists and medical students and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. · She has a keen research interest, and was awarded an MRC training fellowship and achieved a PhD Degree in 1997. She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals as listed on her website. · She has been awarded four Clinical Excellence Awards in recognition of her work in delivering, developing and managing a high quality Rheumatology Service. · She is married with 3 children and she enjoys dog walking and reading in her spare time. Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments Joint aspirations and / or injections Soft tissue injections Tendon injections Carpal tunnel injections Dr Hogarth treats all forms of arthritis and soft tissue pain, including · Inflammatory arthritides e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogren's Syndrome, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gastrointestinal associated arthritis. · Gout · Osteoarthritis · Back and / or neck pain · Osteoporosis and DXA reporting · Fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, hypermobility syndromes · Tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder and thumb pain · Carpal Tunnel Syndrome New patients are advised to book a face to face consultation as a clinical examination is preferred but she will do a telephone consultation if required.
