Ms Bhavna Sharma is an experienced Senior Consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. She has been working as a consultant since 2007. She currently works at University Hospital Lewisham, where she is the lead clinician for the Maternal Medicine.
She also holds an honorary consultant contract at King's College Hospital, is an OSCE examiner of final year medical students at King's College and an examiner for MRCOG part 3 examiner. She holds various positions in the Royal college and is a specialsit advisor to the CQC.
Ms Sharma has been practicing in the UK for 28 years and finished her specialist training in 2006. She has had extensive training with many of the eminent doctors in the specialty, alongside working at a senior level in tertiary hospitals around the UK, including Guys and St Thomas' Hospital.
She has subsequently obtained advanced specialist skills training in the ultrasound scanning in all aspects of women's health issues, Hysteroscopic Surgery and management of high risk pregnancies along with pre-pregnancy counselling. She routinely does one stop menstrual disorder clinic and outpatient Hysteroscopies.
She has been the Royal College Representative for the Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT)Committee.
Her main interests are based around all Menstrual problems (including premenstrual tension, fibroids, adenomyosis etc), Amenorrhoea, polycystic ovarian disease, Vulvo-vaginal problems (dermatoses and vulvodynia, recurrent thrush and bacterial vaginosis), pelvic pain, psychosexual issues, vulval pain/ vulvodynia, early pregnancy complications, recurrent miscarriage, genital prolapse and menopause and HRT, including bioidentical HRT.

Transvaginal ultrasound scan, cervical smear, coil insertion, coil removal, endometrial biopsy, polyp removal, vulval biopsy, one stop clinic.
Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopic surgery - TCRF (Fibroid and polyp resection), endometrial ablation.
Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopic procedures (Ovarian cystectomy, salpingectomy, oophorectomy etc)

Vaginal Hysterectomy
Pelvic floor repair (Genital Prolapse repair surgery)
Bartholins cyst and abscess surgery
managing miscarriage medical and surgical both- ERPC (Evacuation of retained Products of conception)
