During his time at the trust, he has been vital to the progress of the surgical assessment unit as well as various other patient pathways for the management of a range of surgical procedures. 

Mr Shatkar developed minimally invasive proctology services at the trust and has keen interest in proctology.  He also gets referrals from regional hospitals for proctology cases including anal fistula and pilonidal sinus for minimally invasive treatment options including video assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT) and Endoscopic pilonidal sinus disease (Epsit), Rafaelo procedure.
