He was appointed as a consultant urologist at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in 2009, having already worked at Trafford General Hospital and University Hospital South Manchester.
In his current clinical practice, Mr Gunendran provides a wide range of general urology services including the following:
Management of prostate enlargement (benign prostate hyperplasia)
Lower urinary tract symptoms
Blood in urine (haematuria)
Prostate swelling (prostatitis)
Testicular pain
Foreskin problems
Epididymal cysts
Kidney stones
Bladder lesions
He also has special interests in all urological cancers, including penile, testicular, renal, bladder and prostate cancer. Mr Gunendran practices evidence-based urological care and strives to provide the best clinical outcomes for all his patients, both inpatients and outpatients.
Alongside his work in practice, he has experience in clinical research. He holds professional memberships with the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the European Association of Urology.
