Mr Tarang Majmudar is an experienced gynaecologist practicing at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, with a specialist focus on the diagnosis and treatment of early gynaecological cancer and cervical pre-cancer (CIN). He has a particular interest in outpatient and one-stop outpatient treatments under local and inhalation anaesthetic. He is also currently undertaking training in robotic-assisted surgery, reflecting his commitment to adopting the latest surgical techniques.
He has a wide clinical remit, and his interests and expertise include the diagnosis and treatment conditions like endometriosis, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, vulval conditions, vaginal discharge, contraception. He performs a wide range of outpatient procedures, including colposcopy, hysteroscopy, polypectomy, myomectomy, endometrial ablation, endometrial biopsy, coil insertions, excision of cervical and vulval lesions. He can offer transvaginal ultrasound for accurate diagnosis and management. He is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon and can perform surgeries such as hysterectomy, removal of fibroids, removal of ovarian cysts and excision of endometriosis.
Over the years Mr Majmudar has held various leadership roles in his organization and is currently in a very senior role as the Divisional Director for Maternity, Gynaecology and Breast Division at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust which serves the population of Huntingdon, Peterborough and Stamford. He has been the Lead Colposcopist and is the current Cancer Lead. He has trained many resident doctors in minimally invasive surgery and collaborated in many national research projects
Mr Majmudar qualified in medicine (MB BS) from the University of Mumbai in 1994, later completing his MD in 1999. He moved to the UK in 2001 and obtained his certificate of specialist training whilst training in the East of England. He started practice as a consultant in 2008 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2026 recognising his expertise and contribution to the field.
