Mr Stephen J. Wood is a highly experienced senior ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon with a rich background in medical education and research. He completed his medical training at the University of Bristol in 1987 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992, after which he specialised in ENT surgery.

Throughout his career, Mr Wood has undertaken various fellowships in the UK, Canada and the USA including a prestigious advanced ENT fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital. He was awarded a national research prize for his study into the genetics of sinus disease during his time as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. Mr Wood has presented his research at a number of international conferences in Europe and America.  He was also Consultant Senior Lecturer at the Unversity of Bristol prior to his current NHS consultant post at Frimley Health NHS Trust where he has worked for the last 24 years.

In his current NHS practice, Mr Wood has core responsibilities in general ENT clinics seeing adults and children.  His specialist clinical experience includes a dedicated one stop neck lump clinic, head & neck cancer clinics, voice disorder clinics and children's ENT clinics. He has been a core member of the thyroid and head and neck cancer teams and the Lead for Head & Neck Surgery for his hospital trust. Additionally, he has been the Lead for Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance for ENT at Wexham Park Hospital and the Tutor for ENT in his department. Mr Wood was also the founder and faculty member of the Sinus Surgery Course for trainee surgeons in Bristol and was previously a faculty member of the Cambridge Sinus Surgery course.
