About Mr Simon Radley
Mr. Simon Radley is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery with over three decades of experience. He graduated with a MBChB from the University of Birmingham in 1985 and completed his initial medical training in Birmingham, later becoming a lecturer in anatomy at the same university. Mr. Radley completed his registrar training in general and colorectal surgery in the West Midlands before specialising at St Mark’s Hospital, London. He was awarded prestigious fellowships from the International College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England to study rectal cancer treatments in the USA. In 2002, he was appointed as an NHS Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, playing a leading role in introducing laparoscopic colorectal surgery and enhanced recovery protocols at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and The Priory Hospital. Currently, he is Medical Director at HCA The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. Mr. Radley was instrumental in founding the Birmingham Bowel Clinic, the first private centre of excellence in the West Midlands for managing bowel conditions. His clinical expertise includes robotic colorectal and hernia surgery, pelvic floor repair, bowel cancer surgery, inflammatory bowel disease management, advanced laparoscopic techniques, and complex cancer surgeries.
