He initially did his Masters In Surgery and Diplomate of the National Board in Orthopaedics in 1996. In 2002, he completed his MCh degree in Orthopaedics at the University of Liverpool and was awarded Fellowship status in Trauma & Orthopaedics ( FRCS -Ortho) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Shetty specialises in minimally invasive hip replacements, knee replacements, including partial knee replacements, arthroscopic knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, hip and knee arthritis in young adults, revision hip and knee surgery, sports injuries and trauma. He is also a expert in Robotic Hip and Knee Surgery and Hip Resurfacing procedures inc. Ceramic Hips.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Shetty is also an Associate Professor at St Georges Medical School. He is passionate about teaching and training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and is a eductional supervisor to a number of junior trainees. He has recieved Clinical Excellence awards in the NHS and is one of the Senior Orthopaedic Consultants at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
