Mr Sam Parker is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in complex abdominal wall reconstruction and colorectal surgery. He practises at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre. He also holds an NHS consultant post at Croydon University Hospital within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

Mr Parker has a wide clinical practice covering abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia surgery, laparoscopic and open hernia repair, colorectal surgery, colonoscopy, incontinence surgery, and surgery for inflammatory bowel disease. His clinical interests include complex hernia repair, colorectal cancer, coloproctology, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, pilonidal disease, anorectal conditions such as fissures, fistulae, haemorrhoids and incontinence, as well as rectal and anal cancer.

He studied Chemistry at Oxford University before pursuing Medicine at Cardiff University, where he graduated in 2010. Following graduation, he undertook his surgical training in London, working at University College London Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. He was awarded fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2023. In 2025, he was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Croydon University Hospital.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Parker has a strong academic background. He completed a PhD at University College London in 2021, focusing on abdominal wall reconstruction. He is currently the principal investigator for the TROCAR trial, which is evaluating the use of a novel suture, DuraMesh, for laparoscopic port-site closure. His research and publications contribute to advancing surgical techniques in his subspecialty.

Mr Parker is a member of the British Hernia Society and the European Hernia Society. His GMC number is 7082010.
