About Mr Sadaquate Khan
Mr Khan is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with additional fellowship training in Spinal Surgery and Functional Neurosurgery. He graduated from Sheffield Medical School and completed basic surgical training in Edinburgh. He then worked as a clinical research fellow in Bristol and was awarded an MD for his thesis on Deep Brain Stimulation in patients with Parkinson's disease. He undertook his Neurosurgical Training in Bristol, Plymouth and Sheffield. He then completed a Complex Spinal Fellowship in Leeds, training with both Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Surgeons. Mr Khan was awarded the Norman Dott Medal in 2014 for the highest mark achieved in the FRCS Neurosurgery exam. As part of this award he visited the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, Arizona on a travelling fellowship. He currently teaches surgical approaches to the spine on courses in England and Scotland. He has multiple publications in the field of spinal surgery and functional neurosurgery, including papers in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and online learning modules. He has presented at international conferences in Europe and North America as well as invited lectures in Australia. Mr Khan works only in the NHS, and does not see patients on a private basis. His work in Edinburgh is centred on his subspecialty interest in spinal surgery. He also works in Dundee, delivering MRgFUS for the treatment of movement disorders.
