He regularly monitors his practice through complex spine surgery meetings and mortality morbidity meetings and is the lead clinician for spinal cancer in  Derby Hospitals NHS Trust. He also regularly teaches medical students and orthopaedic trainees and is actively involved in research, having over 30 publications in various reputed journals.
