Mr. Venkataraman graduated with his basic medical and postgraduate degree in orthopaedics from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, India. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics) and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association.
Mr. Venkataraman has a special interest in hip and knee joint replacement surgery. He has undertaken advanced clinical fellowship training in this area at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow, an organisation that performs thousands of joint replacements annually. He also completed a clinical fellowship in trauma at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mr. Venkataraman is committed to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Leicester University and a Medical Student Block Lead for trauma and orthopaedics. He runs the undergraduate training programme for medical students at his hospital and actively participates in their assessment at the university level.
