He undertook clinical medicine training at The Royal Free Hospital, and has trained at centres of excellence in London, and East Anglia, in the EU, Toronto and the US. He has a Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Mr Osei is active in research. He has published in many peer-reviewed scientific journals utilising his expertise. His research interests include the spine including injections, fusionless instrumentation in spondylolisthesis and general trauma. He has also managed military casualties whilst at Selly Oak during the Gulf War.
