Mr Matthew Venus is an experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Warwickshire. He specialises in a wide range of cosmetic and non-cosmetic procedures, including body contouring, aesthetic breast surgery, and hand surgery. He is committed to providing a friendly, approachable service in which patients are actively involved in every aspect of their care.
Mr Venus qualified as a doctor from the London Hospital Medical School in 1997 and became a surgeon in 2001. His specialist training in plastic surgery, predominantly centred in the Midlands, has taken him to leading units across the country, including Nottingham, Stevenage, Bedford, Birmingham, Oxford, Derby, and Durham. His training also included dedicated surgical fellowships in cosmetic plastic surgery and hand surgery.
He has developed sub-specialist interests in aesthetic surgery, particularly body contouring for patients who have experienced massive weight loss, and in hand surgery. Notably, Mr Venus introduced endoscopic carpal tunnel release at The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, having performed over 300 cases to date.
An active contributor to the surgical literature, he has published numerous articles on various topics within aesthetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. Mr Venus maintains an NHS practice at The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, where he was the Clinical Lead for the Department of Plastic Surgery from 2015 - 2021. He is listed on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for Plastic Surgery and is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
