During his time as a Clinical Lecturer at University of Nottingham, Mr Jayaprakasan was diligently awarded his PhD in 2009 by the University, for his groundbreaking research on "3D ultrasound assessment of ovarian reserve in women undergoing IVF treatment."
Kanna has since completed his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Pune (India), Newcastle upon Tyne and Nottingham. His sub-specialty training was undertaken at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he subsequently worked as IVF Consultant and Associate Professor in Reproductive Medicine and surgery for two years before being promoted to Lead Consultant at Derby Fertility Unit in 2012.
Kanna holds specialist interests in Assisted Conception (IVF/ICSI) treatment, Reproductive surgeries, reproductive endocrinology, recurrent pregnancy loss, recurrent implantation failure and endometriosis. He is well versed to the application of advanced pelvic ultrasound in the fertility and has gained international recognition for his work on ultrasound based ovarian reserve testing and standardisation of antral follicle count (AFC) assessment.
Kanna is internationally renowned in the scientific communications field, with over 100 published peer reviewed papers and reviews regarding IVF, ultrasound and fertility. He has also co-authored and edited textbooks on fertility and ultrasound, showing his dedication and passion fo the improvement of patient outcomes in fertility.
