Mr Jason Bernard is a leading Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspeciality in Spinal Surgery with HCA Healthcare at The Portland Hospital. The skilled surgeon also holds a post at St. Georges Healthcare Trust in South West London where he developed the Spinal Surgery Service, which recently expanded to include a further Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Nurse Specialist due to high demand. He offers an unparalleled service to his clients, treating a variety of conditions including spinal deformities, tumours, bulging discs and trauma.
He graduated from Glasgow University in 1990 with a Medical Degree and completed his specialist Orthopaedic training scheme in Sheffield and London, including a research Fellowship in the assessment of osteoporotic fracture which led to an MD. He spent a year at the renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and was appointed Consultant in 2004. He is heavily involved in medical education, developing and teaching courses on vertebroplasty and is co-chair of the committee for implementation of NICE guidelines on Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression at his NHS Trust.
