He has actively participated in research, particularly in collaboration with the University of Southern California and Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, USA, focusing on new oncological markers. His contributions to the field include published scientific articles and numerous presentations at national and international meetings, with a specific focus on oncological markers and the treatment of conditions such as haemorrhoids. Mr. Tomasi's dedication to medical education has earned him the distinction of being an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King's College London (KCL).
His elective practice primarily involves procedures related to abdominal-inguinal hernia repair, proctology (including haemorrhoids, anal fissure, fistula-in-ano, and pilonidal sinus), abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR), laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and the management of lumps and bumps.
In addition to his clinical roles, Mr. Tomasi has also taken on leadership positions. He served as the audit lead for general surgery for four years and currently leads initiatives related to sepsis and infection control. Prior to his consultancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, he devoted his expertise as a volunteer doctor in a rural hospital in Burundi, Africa, in 2005.
