About Mr Ian Carluke
Mr Ian Carluke is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee replacement surgery, including both primary and revision procedures. He also performs knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). Mr Carluke has been a consultant within the trust since 2003, following completion of his training in the Northern Region. He undertook specialist training in joint replacement surgery in Edinburgh and completed a trauma fellowship in the United States. His clinical practice focuses on joint replacement and he has a particular interest in managing infected joint replacements and treating metastatic bone cancer. He is actively involved in research related to primary and revision joint replacement surgery. Mr Carluke currently serves as the Clinical Lead for both Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, as well as for Metastatic Bone Disease. In addition to his clinical work, he is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His treatments include knee replacement surgery, knee revision procedures, hip replacement surgery, and revision of hip replacements.
