About Mr Georgios Kontorinis
Having obtained his training in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery, as well as his MD degree in active middle ear implantation at the University Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Hanover Medical School in Germany, Georgios completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Otolaryngology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Sheffield, as well as an advanced Fellowship in complex Otology, Skull Base Surgery and Auditory Implantation in Manchester Teaching Hospitals. Since April 2013, he has been working as a Consultant ENT and Skull Base Surgeon based at the Queen Elizabeth University and the New Victoria Hospitals. In 2019 he was appointed Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at Glasgow University, School of Medicine, actively involved with research, medical education (MSc in Medical Education, Karolinska University, Sweden) and training for the next generation of ENT Surgeons. With his main clinical and research interest in otology/neurotology and skull base surgery, Georgios has been an invited speaker in national and international meetings and has published widely in international peer-review journals on hearing loss, vertigo and balance disorders, vestibular schwannomas and further otology/neurotology related aspects, contributing to the dynamic, fast-developing field of ear and skull base surgery as well as hearing rehabilitation. Georgios is treating patients with a range of ENT conditions with dedicated and sub-specialised practice focusing on patients with dizziness and balance disorders, hearing loss and tinnitus, ear infections and ear drum perforations and vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma) management.
