This has given him a strong foundation in research, leading him to have contributed as a named author to over 20 publications, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based medical practice.

Currently, Mr. Dowen serves as the research lead for trauma and orthopaedics at Sunderland Royal Hospital. He also practises at Spire Washington Hospital.
